New Delhi, 15th October, 2019: The Indian School of Hospitality (ISH), a hospitality college that has set out to transform the educational landscape within the country, hosted an international industry event that brought together hospitality leaders from across to the globe to discuss the recent changes and trends in the hospitality sector.
The day started with an address by Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, who had inaugurated the institute as the guest of honor in the previous year. Mr. Kant praised the institute’s international academic collaborations, new programme launches, industry connect and efforts to bring more inclusivity and diversity to the hospitality education landscape.
The address was followed by the panel discussion on disruption and technology trends in the sector with Frits van Paasschen, Former CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Author of Amazon Bestseller ‘The Disruptors’ Feast’, Deep Kalra, CEO of MakeMyTrip, Katerina Giannouka, President, Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group, moderated by Dilip Puri, Founder & CEO of ISH and Former Managing Director of Starwood Hotels and Resorts South Asia.
Students had the opportunity to learn about the personal journeys of the industry veterans, and interact directly with them during the panel, sharing their thoughts and ideas on the industry and their experience of hospitality education so far. The panelists talked about professional opportunities in the industry for hospitality graduates, the changing face of hospitality, entrepreneurship and brand building as well as the benefits of an education in hospitality.
