What is Internet Of Things? How IOT will change the world?

What is Internet Of Things? This question arises every-time when we listen about IOT  in today’s topic we will talk about this.  IOT stands for Internet Of Things in simple meaning all the physical devices around the world are connected to internet, all collecting and sharing data. We can simplify this more by saying “Taking all the things in world and connect them through the internet”. It can be anything from something small as pill to an Aeroplane.

To help clarify the topic we need to understand through some examples. Firstly this question arises in our mind Why there is a need to connect all the devices through the internet? Whenever a device is connected to internet, it means it can send and recieve information.

Let’s use smartphones. Right now you can listen possibley to any song in the world, Its not because your phone has storage where all the songs are stored It’s because every song in the world is stored somewhere else but the phone can send information and recieve information (Streaming that song on your phone).

To be smart, a thing doesn’t need to have super storage or supercomputers inside it. All things need to be just connected to a super storage.

In the Internet of Things, all the things that are being connected to the internet can be put into three categories:

  1. Things that collect information and then send it.
  2. Things that receive information and then act on it.
  3. Things that do both.

Now the questions arises how IOT will change our world? IOT device will effect many aspects of our lives from our food, drive , health etc.

As more and more people move into cities worldwide, there will be a higher demand for water and energy, and an increased potential for disease outbreak, pollution, traffic congestion, and crime. For example in china, Drones are providing food to people and aware them about Coronavirus.3D data can even help public health officials identify disease clusters by measuring the population density in areas where people have contracted the disease.
