New Delhi, May 4: All students applying to IIITD for MTech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) need to take part in a coding competition interestingly named CodeChef. So what is this CodeChef? CodeChef is a platform to help programmers make it big in the world of algorithms, computer programming and programming contests. CodeChef makes students work hard to revive the geek them. By making it compulsory for MTech(CSE) admission seekers join this contest is a way of gauging their skill in algorithms, binary searchand technicalities like array size and the likes. Apart from being a platform for programming competitions, CodeChef also has various algorithm tutorials and forum discussions to help those who are new to the world of computer programming.
There are various codechef test, IIITD has chosen the long challenge, which are typically named as January challenge 2017, February challenge 2017, etc. For the purpose of MTech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) admission in 2017, IIITD will consider the result of any long run challenge held during (or after) January 2017.
The date of on-campus written test and interview is June 16 2017. Students who have not attempted a long run challenges yet, can still attempt itthismonth or even in June. This is another qualifying round for studentswanting to take admission in MTech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at IIITD.Students need to enter the IIIT Delhi application ID in the About Me field on the Codechef registration page. Solve as many problems as they can (within the time period allowed by the contest).Submit their solutions and obtain their score.
