In a ceremony held on 4 April 2016, the Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development, Smt Smiriti Irani issued the rankings. The other Universities from Haryana are: Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University Of Health Sciences, National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship & Management (Niftem), Maharishi Dayanand University, Guru Jambeshwar University Of Science And Technology

Out of the total 740 Universities in India, 233 participated in the survey. The NorthCap University has been ranked 17th among all the private Universities in India. It is the only private university from Haryana and Delhi/ NCR to be placed in the Top 100 list. Among different parameters of the NIRF ranking, NCU secured 100% points in ‘Graduate Outcomes’ and 75% points each in ‘Teaching, Learning & Resources’ and ‘Outreach’ which speaks about its academic excellence.

The NIRF outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country, drawing from the overall recommendations by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions.

On this occasion, the Brig. SK Sharma (Retd.), Pro Vice-Chancellor of THE NORTHCAP UNIVERSITY said, “It is a matter of pride for NCU to be placed as the top private university in Haryana and Delhi/ NCR and the 4th Private University in whole of North India, by the Ministry of HRD.

Students and parents can now decide on the basis of this national level Government approved survey for their admissions. We indeed welcome this laudable initiative by MHRD. NCU has always promoted quality education and hope the rankings will improve the standard of education in our University and other institutions.
