Recently in Kerala, 40,000 classrooms have been digitalized with advanced gadgets, projector, and broadband connection. This project is accomplished by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE). In this project, 40,083 classrooms from the state were selected to make them hi-tech. K Anvar Sadath, vice chairmen and executive director of KITE said that “We have completed the deployment of all technical gadgets like USB speakers, projectors, etc to 40,083 classrooms and 16,500 laptops for the computer labs are also being deployed the week. Northern Mallapuram District tops in hi-tech classrooms with the number of 5,096 advanced classrooms. In 702 schools, 70 percent of classrooms have been digitalized.”

All the equipment are kept in computer labs but teachers can use them in classrooms whenever they want. From this month onward all the students of class 8-12 can use these technical facilities, he said. Also 13,786 schools have been connected with the high-speed internet connection.
Sadath added that “it is a great achievement to deploying 60,000 laptops and 42,000 multimedia projectors for schools within 6 months.”
