~ Save the Children-Bal Raksha Bharat, launched Safe back to school and Anganwadi campaign

Delhi, 07th June 2022: Save The Children-Bal Raksha Bharat launched a Safe Back to School and Anganwadi Campaign linking it to the organization’s flagship campaign #TheRightStart for Children. It was a 10 day campaign that started on May 20th and ran till the end of May 2022. The Campaign was aimed at creating awareness to bring Children Safe Back to School and give them the right start for a fun filled and safe learning environment.

Sh. Vishwendra (DC, Southeast) and Ms. Sonalika Jiwani (DC, South) flagged off the campaign van from their office premise in the presence of government officials,  Child champions of Save the Children and Save the Children representatives. The main objective of the campaign was to create awareness about school and Anganwadi reopening, encourage parents to send their children to school and Anganwadi center, and enrollment of dropout children in school.

The govt representatives appreciated the initiative of Save the Children for bringing children back to schools and Anganwadi’s to ensure their learning continuity which was disrupted due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Closing of schools during covid induced lockdown had led to increased cases of child labour, early marriages, domestic violence, academic regression and dropout rates. The campaign was carried out across five districts (Southeast, South, East, North, and North West) of Delhi. Awareness materials including pamphlets and leaflets was also distributed through the campaign vehicle. Audio messages were disseminated for raising awareness among community people across 5 districts
