CCSHAU to contribute about One Crore Fifty Lakh rupees for Corona Relief Fund

New Delhi, 24th March 2020: The Haryana government announced the creation of a Corona Relief Fund to prevent the spread of the global epidemic, corona virus COVID-19. The management of CCSHAU decided to donate part of their salaries to Corona’s relief funds at a meeting chaired by Professor K.P. Singh VC, CCSHAU. Under his able guidance, the university family will collect an amount of about one crore fifty lakh rupees. All the employees including officers, teaching community and non-teaching staff will be giving some portion from their one month salary, which will be contributed to the Haryana government under the Corona Relief Fund.

Mr. Singh said “Through this initiative, the lives of infected patients can be saved. He assured that the funds raised for the Corona Relief Fund, would be used for the betterment of state’s health system.This measure is the biggest supreme religion for the service of humanity and also appealed to them that there is a need to help one- other vigilantly and avoid negligence”.

Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is a public funded agricultural university located at Hisar in the Indian state of Haryana. It is one of the biggest agricultural universities in Asia. The university has 8645 acres of land (around 7219 acres at main campus, 1426 acres at outstations). It is named after India’s seventh Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh.It was initially a satellite campus of Punjab Agricultural University at Hisar. It was established as a university by Haryana and Punjab Agricultural Universities Act, ratified 2nd February, 1970 and was named as Haryana Agricultural University. So basically it is considered as the first established university of state Haryana. On 31st October, 1991, it was renamed as Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University. The university publishes the largest number of research papers among agricultural universities in India. It won the Indian Council of Agricultural Research’s Award for the Best Institute in 1997 and in 2017. It contributed significantly to Green Revolution and White Revolution in India.
