New Delhi, March 25, 2020: The COVID-19 outbreak and the resultant uncertainty has adversely impacted schools and educational institutes across India. JD Institute of Fashion Technology With the announcement of a 21-day nationwide lockdown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, JD Institute has started a mental health campaign via social media platforms for millennials who are dealing with the pressure of quarantine and social distancing.

As countries introduce measures to restrict movement as part of efforts to reduce the number of people infected with COVID-19, more and more of us are making huge changes to our daily routines.

The new realities of working from home, temporary unemployment, home-schooling of children, and lack of physical contact with other family members, friends and colleagues take time to get used to. Adapting to lifestyle changes such as these, and managing the fear of contracting the virus and worry about people close to us who are particularly vulnerable, are challenging for all of us. They can be particularly difficult for people with mental health conditions.

Self-isolation and social distancing have caused distress among students and many are in a state of anxiety. To overcome this, the institution has scheduled a series of online interactions with industry experts who will share their expertise on self-care and converse with students about embracing uncertainty and focusing on things that prioritize their wellbeing and mental health. The students can talk through their concerns and feelings to find ways to deal with this quarantine period. The campaign has lots of engaging and relaxing activities for students to keep them healthy and happy.
