History

National Cancer Awareness Day was first announced by the Indian Minister of Health and Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan in September 2014, and that November 7 will be considered an annual national cancer awareness day to inform early detection and prevent advanced cancer-causing lifestyles.

Harsh Vardhan introduced the level of cancer control at the state level, promoting early detection and cancer research. National Cancer Awareness Day also encourages people to report to public hospitals, CGHS, and municipal clinics for a free screening.
