An initiative by ‘I am still Human, NGO’ to provide more blood units to Indian Army

A medical team of the Indian Army will collect the blood donated by the civilians

Army veterans will plant 21 special trees named in the memories of each Param Vir Chakra awardees (PVC)

29th July 2019, New Delhi: Chandigarh based NGO ‘I am still Human’ is organizing a noble campaign ‘7th Shaurya Blood Connect’ with the Indian Army which will be held on 4th August at Ramjas college, Delhi University. They are hosting a blood donation camp and the blood will be collected exclusively for the illustrious Indian Army to be used for the welfare of veterans, serving soldiers and officers and their dependents at Military Hospitals.

The 7th edition of this campaign will include a bike rally, comprising of over 70 female & 400+ male professional riders, will be flagged off from India Gate and will reach Ramjas College. After the blood donation, a mega tree plantation drive will be initiated in the memories of our nation’s 21 PVC awardees wherein Army veterans will plant 21 special trees named after each of the PVC awardees and 2000 more trees will be planted in memory of our mighty soldiers and martyrs.

The program will be honored by the presence of Lt. Gen. K.J Singh (Retd.), PVSM, AVSM** who is also an ambassador of this campaign. He has served in Counter Insurgency areas (Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal, J&K, and Punjab), Assam Rifles and with United Nations Peace Keeping Force in Angola. He has been awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation and UN Force Commanders Citation for bravery for his UN tenure.

This campaign is a platform where people can express their love and support for the Armed forces in a better way” said Vivek Mehra, Founder, I am still Human.

The camp will held in association with Rock and Storm, Biking community of India and Jammu Kashmir study centre.
