The Lexicon Schools organised ‘The LEXICON PEACE SUMMIT – LEXIMUN 2022’

Pune, 2nd Aug 2022: The Lexicon Schools, in collaboration with SkillSphere Education Ltd., hosted the prestigious Lexicon Model United Nations Programme, also known as LEXIMUN, for the students of The Lexicon Schools, Lexicon Alumni, Lexicon MILE and other CBSE Schools in and around Pune. The LEXICON PEACE SUMMIT – LEXIMUN 2022 was held on 29th and 30th July 2022 at the Wagholi campus.

A total of eight schools and 104 students participated in the summit. Through 5 important conflict-based committees, the young delegates at the LEXIMUN 2022 ushered in a dialogue centered around peace. The schools participating were The Lexicon International School – Wagholi, The Lexicon International School – Kalyani Nagar, The Lexicon School – Hadapsar, Lexicon MILE, Amanora School, Elpro International School, S.E.S. Gurukul and The Orchid School. 

The prestigious OC left no stone unturned in their efforts to make the MUN an unforgettable event. The Secretary-General – Amrutha Bhawani and Director General – Om Awthankar led their hard-working team of 10 enthusiastic volunteers to ensure the summit was a remarkable success.

104 delegates of the LEXIMUN 2022 engaged in debates and discussions to develop solutions that would bring forth peace in different regions of the world that have devastated the lives of millions, for example, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, and the issue of Tibet to name a few. The delegates of all 5 conflict resolution committees, armed with their research and full of enthusiasm, concluded the LEXIMUN 2022 by voting on and passing a draft resolution.

This summit was intended to inspire students to engage in current affairs, develop their problem solving and critical thinking abilities in context of issues that concern not only the world of today, but also affect the future. We feel proud to host this summit at The Lexicon Schools and see kids from all across participate with much enthusiasm and zeal sharing their opinions and presenting their views on real-life solutions. This event also provides the youth an opportunity to be abreast with current affairs and knowledge and provides them an insight to think on lateral issues”, says Mrs. Anju Luthra, Deputy Director, The Lexicon Schools.
