Yadavindra Public School in Mohali believes that education should not only prepare a person to adapt to society’s customs and conventions but also to empower them to contribute to society, to bring in changes to the person as well in the society too.

The director, Maj Gen TPS Waraich quotes that, “It is often said that education without a clear cut aim is like a rudderless ship” and thus he believes in having a considerable impact on society via his school and its curriculum, format and pattern. He also works to have a harmonious life in the internal and external body of the being, with spiritual and material values segregated and placed in perfect spaces and neither of the two overshadowing the other, only then can the development in full capacity for human potentialities and capacities can take place. This is also important to make the students better informed and according to the global parameters.

From nursery to class XII, YPS is a co-educational day-cum boarding school. It is associated with the New Delhi-based Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations. The Indian School Certificate (Class XII) is considered equivalent to the University of Scotland’s Senior School Examination. This means that students applying to universities in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries will not be needed to gain “A” level certificates or complete bridging courses. (Indian School Certification is the only Indian qualification that has received this distinction.)

The Indian Public School Conference is a member of YPS. The academic year has already begun for the school campus.

Aitchison, Nalagarh, Patiala, Ranjit, and Tagore are the five houses in which students from Class IV to XII are split. This was done to offer them a sense of belonging and to help them develop House and team spirit while participating in various events. In both Senior and Junior School, each “house” is led by a House Master, who is assisted by other staff members and House Prefects chosen from the uppermost classes of both wings. While spearheading other kids in the “House,” they develop leadership characteristics.

These features make the school a unique and easily retractable study point on the part of students.

Senior wing

The school’s structure is the most well-established aspect. Before 2004, the school had only that structure.

Junior school

This segment started in 2004 and has classes from grade 1 to grade 5. Dr Komal Kahlon was the primary headmistress of this section, in the very beginning.

Kindergarten

This section of schooling was incorporated in 2006.

Boarding house

The school has a separate lodging for young men, which is accessible to all understudies in classes 4 through 12. The hotel is a four-story structure with air-conditioning offices. There are two distinct boarding areas.

Eating hall

The dining hall is large enough to accommodate over 700 students right away. Feasts are customary at the school, and the food is prepared by the school employees.

Grounds

The 45-acre YPS grounds are located 3 kilometres from the Patiala rail route station and transportation terminus. The school constructs a large jungle gym, wide and well-ventilated study rooms, a pool, excellent labs, a well-stocked library, a music room, and a computer lab.

Different offices incorporate three lodgings for young men and young ladies, a 15-bed medical clinic, quarters for educating and other administrative staff and a lodging complex for educators.

The school is CISCE affiliated with English as the guiding medium. The school has shown 100% results in the past in ISC and ICSE assessments.

The school has various other co-curricular exercises like discussions, tests, dramatizations and debates with extrapolation. Journeys, excursions and exchange programmes are likewise an indispensable piece of the educational program of the school. Different exercises incorporate dance and music, craftsmanship and needlework, book reading and photography, chess and calligraphy and Home Science.

Sports exercises and facilities include Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Cricket, Tennis, Athletics, and Swimming.

The Head of the Institute is Mr Stanley Vinod Kumar, who leads all the current functional and core topics on the premises. All the decisions are generally taken by the head himself, and thus the lives of students are greatly impacted under his supervision, which is also making it interesting and differentiated from the normal norms.

Education World C-fore Survey 2013 mentioned Yadavindra Public School, Patiala as the top day cum live-in schools in India.
